In many places among our (SDA) members there exists a lively agitation upon the subject of “The Judgment of the Living”. It is surely timely for this solemn and important theme to be a matter of enquiry and discussion. Some folk are quite earnest in their endeavours to enlighten people, and surely it is time for our people to possess all the information available on this tremendous theme; but it should be studied in the light of the Message as a whole. By not doing this some members have become ensnared with erroneous ideas that are actually detrimental to a thorough understanding of the third angel’s message.

It is being assiduously taught by some that “The Judgment of the Living” occurs before the Loud Cry and that all members of the (SDA) Church will be lost eternally if they do not obtain the seal of God before the Loud Cry. That is, that probation for the entire church will have ended when the Loud Cry commences: either members receive the seal of God or the mark of the beast. It is the writer’s firm conviction that those who teach this will be proved false prophets, because he believes that there is not one word in the Bible or the Spirit of Prophecy to sustain this false doctrine.
